Because it helps students in actual identification of REAL muscles on something other than a plastic model. And no cadavers are not "totally" different, nearly ever single muscle mentioned here you also have in your body in the same place.

I'll never understand why cat dissection is considered acceptable for human study. Cadavers are totally different.That, and cats are better alive.
